Après Ski

Away from action on the pistes there is plenty of après ski activity in the resort of Pamporovo.

Nightlife is reasonably lively with the perquisite restaurants, bars and nightclubs one would expect from any ski resort.

There are many different restaurants in Pamporovo ranging from traditional hearty, Bulgarian cuisine to pub grub and Italian pizza and pasta. Eating out is excellent value for money with a three course meal from about £7.00 (€10) and local beer for about £1.40 (€2) A local specialty is lamb roasted over an open fire.

Most "mehanas" taverns offer traditional live entertainment and regular “Happy hour” drink promotions while several of the larger hotels have their own nightclubs, examples include Hotel Perelik, Hotel Finlandia and Hotel Rojen.

There is a large shopping centre located adjacent to Hotel Perelik in the centre of the resort.

Locally it is also possible to take part in tobogganing, bowling and archery. Walkers and hikers will be challenged by the various different hiking trails of the beautiful Rodopi Mountains

Popular day trips include visits to some of the ancient towns and villages surrounding Pamporovo such as Stoykite village and the ancient town of Chepelare which houses the ancient Bachkovo Monastery.

Further afield, the Rila Monastery which is one of the most impressive monuments of the Bulgarian Renaissance and the historical city of Plovdiv are worth a visit.
